IE 8 and hotmail

I am using IE 8 and yet everytime I login to hotmail I get this message :-
We recommend that you upgrade your web browser so you can get the most out of Windows Live Hotmail. Upgrading should only take a few minutes. To get started, choose one of the browsers below:

• Microsoft Internet Explorer
• Mozilla Firefox
• Apple Safari

I am using the almost latest version of firefox, so I expect to see that message when I use firefox, but why does it show up when I use IE?

Try this and see if it works.

Advanced Tab
Reset

This will remove the addons, which may be malfunctioning; they can be restored later

Does not work?

Try this
Go to search, by start button
Type turn windows features on and off
click on it
untick IE, boot the computer. (remember you need a browser to get on the web)
Then tick it. See if it works now.

I tried resetting.... that didn't work, I opened "Windows Features" and there is no sign of IE in the list

Try downloading it, again, from the IE website.

IE website you mean microsoft? And I am assuming I need to uninstall IE8 first

I would not unistall, just go to MS site and try to download, the worst case it will not download becuse you already have it. Best case it will download and correct deficiencies.

Always make a system restore point, before downloading anything.

Try clearing your cache. Do a disc cleanup.

The only thing that you may want to try is open another user account on your computer and try to get into the site, it may just be some sort of corruption.

Try running your antivirus and download and run malwarebytes.


As a last resort the only thing that I can think of is that if it is only one site, it must be the site. That is the only answer that I can come up with.

Run & Run I think it must be microflacids website not wanting to play with its own product go figure eh
