Identifying "bloatwares"

I was told, PC's would be much more expensive without all these factory installed programs they are sold with. (I'll buy that) .

So it's up to owners to unstall some unwanted softwares. But how do I know which are marginally useful (keep, maybe) and which are not (get rid, totally). Any guidelines? Advices?

I just deleted (nervously) HPTCSSetup and now I have this unsettling feeling.

The simple way is to go into Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features and see which you dont actually need. This is particulaly useful if you have a pre manufactured system that came installed with a lot of unwanted programs.

You could probably uninstall most of HPs own software if you dont feel you need it for instance. They install other 3rd party software as well.

If your system came with Norton, I strongly suggest you remove it as thats the biggest bloatware known to man and get a free alternative like avira Free antivirus - Avira AntiVir.

Otherwise you can list what you think is bloat and unneeded and we can confirm if thats true.
