I have a Vista x86 and the X-fi is causing me great trouble. It works very fine in the windows environment as soon as I start any game ( D3D Applications ) the performance of the PC hits the ground. I did a simple test by disabling the audio device and the performance came back to life.
My PC has:-
3 Ghz P4 CPU
2GB ram
500 GB storage
8800GTS
ASUS Intel 945 PCIX MB. P5PL2
X-fi Extreme Music

Please Help me:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yes I have the latest driver and Alchemy the problem is when I point Alchemy to the game folder the game stops working with a massage saying that a dsound.dll is invalid please reinstall the game.

Are you trying to point it to unsupported games? If it is an OpenAL game, for example, it doesn't need the Alchemy support and (if I understand this right), the game would be confused if it had that support. For a list of those games, try: OpenAL - Titles

Alchemy should be able to find most of the games that require its services. Is there one in particular that is problematic?
