ok, i'm a nOOb in disguise, I just installed 8 GIGs of RAM and set the bus at ddr2-800 and it worked! Corsair RAMGUY had stated that ASUS P5B with 8 GIGS ram had to be slowed down to ddr2-667 to work. I guess the latest bios solved the problem.

now I have to find a scsi card, as my old one isn't recognized by vista. . . any suggestions?
