HUGE mouse problem.

Hello. My mother and i have been experiencing a very bad problem with both of our laptop mouses. She has a latitude 0360 running with Windows xp and i have an inspiron 1420 with vista 32bit(?) Since last night, we have had a problem where the mouse pads to our computers are either:
(A) not clicking with the button nor the pad tap
Or
(B) the mouse goes crazy causing havoc as it clicks by its own while we move it.

The mouse would randomly open windows if we run over them
The problem would go for 5-6 minutes then stop for an hour and start up again.
Her problem started about an hour after visiting a website called Vimeo, which i use frequently. If we plug in a mouse via the USB port, Problem a stops, but we cant stop B. Is this a virus/trojan? It cannot be with the computers because we have different OS's. Please help ASAP

It sure sounds like a trojan or malaware... update your Anti Virus, Spyware & malware, turn off System Restore, go to safe mode, run your arsenal, once done, restart again and don't forget to turn System Restore On again.

---omg---

---my mouse went on the fritz today also---(but it happened while I was at THIS forum site)--- it dropped on the carpet upsidedown (pressing in the clickers?) and the red-laser-light underneath faced the shiny table legs---(did this refraction damage circuits?)---the install booklet DID say that do not use on mirror/shiny surfaces or the mouse will not work---
---or do I have a virus?---(I wish to know, before I go and buy a new mouse)---my touchpad works, but it is rather 'clutzy' for me to get used to---I have Avast a/v---

thank you
peace
