hello again everyone.. So here's the problem. I have my monitor, the samsung 226BW, i love it. works great. doesn't swivel like the HP. but so far I'm not sure if I'd even use that.. but I just built my brother a computer.. and we bought him the HP w2207. not the "H" model. but one of the older ones.. as it was much cheaper. They are amazing looking, great picture. Crisp and very very minimal Backlight bleed.

So here's the question, to anyone that owns a w2207 or the (h) model,
How do you get the screen to turn with you when you crank it vertical.. I kno there is ON screen buttons to can hit with the controls onboard the monitor. but thats a complete Pain in the Arse!. Does anyone kno what we should be using. the CD that came with it, didn't install it. When we go to options, it's pretty empty.. We can't figure it out. and as far as I was concerned. it was supposed to just turn on it's own when you turn it vertical, its supposed to recognize it and change for you.. like the Zune, or an iphone screen does..

so if anyone know's whats wrong here, or what program I need to get for this to work properly.. please let me kno. It's on vista 64 also..

Thanks in Advanced Guys!

Hi Gunther,

I have the w2207. Love it. Only way I've found to turn the display is in my graphics card control panel (Nvidia 8600GTS). I've seen people talk about using Ctrl+Alt+up arrow, but doesn't work here. If you find an easier way would sure like to know about it.

I have a HP w2207H monitor. Until a couple of days ago, the auto-pivot feature more or less worked. Sometimes I'd have to manually launch the My Display software in order to get it to reorient in page format.

Now, it doesn't work at all. I made the mistake of updating the drivers and software on the HP site. I've been involved in a back and forth email dialogue with HP Total Care (whatever it's called) for a couple of day to no avail.

When it did work, it was great for viewing PDF files.

Edit: The Pivot feature works (manually) when I'm booted into Ubuntu Linux. In Vista, however, I can't get it to work even using the Nvidia control panel.
