how to partition my hdd

hi,
i had recovered my HDD and then i got my HDD fully formatted automatically ..now i get two partitions in my 160GB HDD which are 139 GB and 10 GB .10gb for recovery and 139 GB as c drive.
now i want to have 3 or 4 partitions and what i have to do now.and i dont want to waste 10 GB to recovery and i want that too.what to do with that recovery image..what i have to do, plz help..

mine is HP pavilion notebook.160 GB hdd 3 GB ram and dual core 1.86GHz with vista home basic.
