Download Belarc Advisor. It's perfectly safe and tells you all kinds of information about your machine.

That screen says "Upgrade Windows Vista"....maybe you need to do that?

To help you with that, and anyone else reading this, I'll post a few tips that I have stickied over at the forum where I Moderate, edited of course.

Enable the built-in Windows Firewall.
Start/Control Panel/Security/Windows Firewall - turn it ON

Disable any software firewall and anti-virus permanently, as SP1 requires a reboot or two before completing.
If you have any other protection software such as SpywareBlaster etc. turn off its protection too.

Just don't forget to reverse the above when it's installed.

You should now be ready for SP1. If for any reasons you have problems using the Windows Update download, there is a standalone SP1 download available here: Download details: Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Five Language Standalone (KB936330)

For more information abut Service Pack 1, see this web site: What is Service Pack 1? and if you have some problems see Microsoft's Help & Support options**.

Microsoft offers free support for Vista SP1 until March 18, 2009 HERE.**

Note that support link is free only for SP1 issues, nothing else.

They have, however, always offered free support for any Microsoft/Windows Updates - related issues.
