How to Install Saved Software?

I purchased software downloaded it from Disc to the C drive of my laptop. Vista Home Prem 32 and Lenovo laptop. C became too full so I pulled up the software from its position on Windows Explorer on my laptop and used the "COPY" function for that entire folder. When it copied that software I opened up the "D" Drive on same laptop and made a new folder to put the copied software into. I named the empty folder X1 and saved it. Then I opened that X1 folder and Pasted inside the software for safe keeping. Now it was copied and in full but on my D Drive.

Today I need that software to use for the first time and I cant seem to get it to load up on D drive or C. D drive isnt a completed working Drive like C. So, I once again used the COPY function and Copied the software completely as it was INSIDE the folder I created to store it in and NOT THE STORAGE FOLDER. Once I copied that software I opened up the C Drive and Used the PASTE Function to Paste that software back into its original position on C Drive. Using its original name etc and it went well. BUT, when I tried to install that software once again I kept getting the following error messages that sorta kills me...... "Your Configuration Has Been Modified (prd.ini, Startup) Please Re-Install.....[OK]. I tried to delete and re-copy and paste etc. Nothing seems to want to work or allow the program for this software to startup at all. I do have a copy of a previous prd.ini file for the same type software if that helps at all. It may show what was changed when I made that copy and paste up. But, I just dont know for sure. Do you know of a way to load this software up from what I have available? I know this isnt a simple fix and I could really use some help to make this work once again. So, any help will be appreciated.

Re: How to Install Saved Software?>

Welcome
It my opinion the easiest way is to just reinstall, if you have the key. If not, I would call the software company and relate the story to them. They may have a way to fix the problem

Re: How to Install Saved Software?>

Did you copy the hidden files? its best to use cmd to copy program files. That way everything is copied. My best advice is to find an iso inage of your software from the web and reinstall. Then copy what u got on d to the install file on the c drive

Second for your own good, it will be best to remove you email address. Any answers will be posted here at the Forum
Finally, if you do not have a key, you must buy one.
If your Vista is activated and you do not know the key that was used, just use any of the listed software, I suggest magic Jellybean
