how much ram???

I am running vista ultimate 64-bit and I have 2GB of ram at this point but i am planning to upgrade to 8GB.

motherboard= ECS 945P-A

so could you tell me if it is possible?

Hi chilloh,

That board has three versions for it, so I'm not sure which one is yours. Just click on the link that is for you version, then click on the Specification link under Product Information. Next, just look under the Memory section to see how much and what type of RAM the motherboard can support.

Which version of the motherboard do you have?

That would be the one then. Your MOBO will only support up to 1GB RAM sticks for a total of 4GB though.

From what I can tell, I can only assume that it will not support anything larger than 1 GB per stick.

4GB is not bad at all. It should serve you very well.

brink is right 4gb is plenty..... 8gb is seriously overkill at the moment unless ur into some heavy photowork / cad /other major apps
