how do I remove the bootmgr

Recently I encountered a boot issue, inserted my Vista Business x64 CD and ran a repair. After the repair completed and the system rebooted I then saw a screen for the Bootmgr and it presented two options (1) Vista Business x64 (recovered) and (2) (recovered). The text is not exact but very close to what I remember. Prior to the repair I did not have a bootmgr and I don't want a bootmgr. How do I correct the issue?
