How can I remove email profile

Hello, I am using Vista Ultimate and Outlook 2007. I have four separate email profiles, one for each account, and I cannot figure out how to delete one of them. I brought up the account I wanted to delete in Outlook, went to tools/options/mail setup/e-mail accounts and removed the name/type by clicking on the remove “X.” I then closed Outlook rebooted and when I invoke Outlook I am still presented with four email accounts in the “Choose Profile” dialog box. I tried setting the account that I want to delete as the default and then went to “Mail” via the control panel to kill it, but nothing shows up. Any thoughts on how can I get rid of this unwanted account?
Thanks, Skip

Thank you for responding. I figured it out last night. I needed to get to mail through the control panel, chose “show profiles” and then delete. I was looking at “E-mail Accounts” in both the control panel and under tools in Outlook. Both places let me remove the POP reference, but doing this did not actually remove the unwanted account. It appears that only “Mail Setup” via the control panel can remove the account from the system.
Ciao for now, Skip

---thank you for the post---(I also use Firefox as a browser and it is different from I-E settings)---I do NOT use the main pc email, but outside online ones; because it was advised to me many-moons ago that it is safest (most of them have built-in virus/check)---and---I can check my emails from anywhere around the world when I travel, since I do not have to log-in to MY pc at home---

peace
