hibernate? iPhone? No BIOS...

Hmm..ok, so my computer has NEVER had an issue returning, or going into hibernation slumber till last week. My iPhone was hooked up USB and I put Vista into hibernation (orange light) and computer did come out so I repowered..ran through safe mode, reboot normal and everything is well. Later in the week plugged in iPhone while it was in hibernate..took it out to sync music and put it back into hibernate. Didn't come out of hibernate again so power off. 3 days ago..since then it is like an deathbed vegetable only maintaining certain vitals.

I am working with a HP Pavilion..Vista Home Premium x64, Intel Core 2 quad (Q6600)..and iPhone 3G (software 3.1..).

When I power on CD drive blinks, keyboard blinks, and fans start in low spin. After 5-6 seconds processor fan speeds up to a slightly faster state and that is as far as it goes. I have persistently powered on-off trying F8, F10 my way into BIOS and also random board mashes of Esc, del, return..etc. After intial power on the keyboard lights up once but is unresponsive afterwards (Scroll lock, num-lock..etc) don't assume an on/off state. I have tried shock theropy by pulling the plug during the computer veg state, disconnecting and connecting RAM, hard-drive, graphic card, motherboard power and battery..and random CD in drive but no spin..everything nothing.

Afterwards my iPhone geeked out as well. The 9 or so standard applications worked fine but and aftermarket applications added..all 58 or so immediately close after selection. After basic reset of the phone it is working again but has problems booting..avg 2 out
of 5 boots ate successful.

Sooo anyone have any ideas? The only thing I can think of it's stuck in permanent hibernation slumber. New hard-drive? Motherboard?
