Hi, I'm new :)

Hey,

My name is Brendan and I wanted to say hello to everyone on the forums. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section or just doesn't belong period but I wanted my own introduction for a reason, to get my web-site out to other members. I plan on being on this site for a long time, I consider myself a valueable member but that's yet for you kind people to tell.

I'm 15 years old and live in PEI, Canada. I grew up around technology at my hands, I've experimented with it, diagnosed and fixed my own issues, learned from other people and asked for information online that for some reason I remember as a pose to my academic stuff. There's something about technology and especially computers that calms me down, it's my area, you know? Well, anyways. The link below and in my sig is my blog, that blog will be updated often with tips, tricks, tutorials, reviews and more with anyting relating tech. My e-mail which will also be posted below is for anyone who wants to become a part of an online tips, tricks, tutorials and reviews site or has any requests or general questions about me, my site and what I know and do.

My future plans are to build my own desktop computer by the end of the summer, I'll be saving up all my money from here to then to do this. However, I'd be doing it now but I recently bought a playboy cell-phone and that took a chunk out of my change, well, my familys change which I basically use as my own. I'm getting a full-time job in the summer to start building computers. My further goal is to start my own business, building and repairing computers. Sounds crazy considering I'm 15, doesn't it? Well, yeah, I know but I know I can do it. The most I've done though is swapped out hard-drives on my notebook computer and swapped out ram on my own.

I can't make up my mind whether you are in some kind of forum rules violation (in which case you are a potential trouble maker) or you are actually a very smart techie who wants to help out (in which case you are always welcome especially by non-advance members.)

It's a bit of a fine line there, Presario. It generally comes down to whether or not you are banking on these forums to promote your own website. Generally, what would be a cool idea would be for you to provide some form of link back to the forums from your site.

Also, if you do provide hints, tips, help, assistance, etc, then try to restrict yourself to the context of the forums so as to benefit all. If you use information from the forums in your ownsite, be sure to provide credit and a link back to the original post where you got the information...

I'm sure Brink or z3r010 will also be providing more information about this.

Thank-you for further explaining this, no, I'm not banking on these forums to promote my site, I just throw it out there because that's where the mass collection of the things I'm slowly but surely learning about computers and technology in general is collected and kept. I'm not exactly sure on how to get a link on a blogspot, if someone could direct me too it I would be more than happy too- I originally planned on it!

I would deffinitly give the credits and link back to the original post, I'd never take credit for someone elses knowledge, work, post etc, I'm not a cheater and am all original.

I'm sorry if you feel that I am banking or as some people may consider it "Hitching, leaching or sucking" off you're site to provide the own power to mine; Mine is nothing but a mear basement bash project, it's nothing serious but still something useful to some people. Browse around it and see for yourself.

You misunderstand!

You may have noticed that I too have a link to my own website in my sig.

But if the same happens to you as it did with me, you'll spend most of your time here, and you own site will feel a little neglected (you may have noticed that my site is woefully incomplete).

I hate formatting and reloading customer's computers - it's the easy way out, but this "Brontok" and it's variants is not worth the increase in blood pressure!
