Why not, if you do at least when you get the new OS you'll have some idea of what to expect which may save you a lot of grief

Never have had much problems going from OS to OS. And working for a software company I tend to ignore any rantings til I can lay hands on things.

you are absolutely correct as you can try this OS and see what your programs (if you have a customized network that too) of choice have if any problems....
