Help!!

My hard drive broke, so I have purchased a Samsung Spinpoint HD103sj. It's my main drive I want to use it as boot. I have partitioned it and formatted it. When I come to install a new clean version of vista on it, the drive does not show up in the windows drivers, no matter what I do I just see an X boot, when I browes, but the drive is 'I' at the moment. It shows in bios. I just don't know what to do help please

When you say you partitioned and formatted it, what did you do? What tool did you use? What filesystem did you format it with (FAT/FAT32/NTFS etc.)?

I would suggest removing your CMOS battery, then wait a minute or two before putting it back in. Your BIOS may need to be cleared if you've upgraded to a drive of that capacity
