Help!!!! PTFO and Highly frustrated and Tired....:sa:

This Internet things is killin me... My problem is that I can't connect.

I searched every website possible doing everything but still the same result. Its not the ISP for starts, its the PC Vista problem.

I unchecked IPV6 and th 2 below it, I Did the registry edit thing by creating a disabledcomponents hex, restarted a billion times trying to repair the network connection etc... I'm not sure what else to do. This comp is my aunts and she had a virus on it and i guess the virus stopped the internet from working. I downloaded the AVG virus software and Avira software to scan and remove and viruses, but still no internet. I too it to my house thinking it was her Connection at her house but yet i get the same result at home.

I tried pluging it in through the router to no avail, i tried pluging directly to no avail. I even used my HTC EVO Phone's internet connection to try and get the internet to work on the computer and still nothing... HELP!!!!

I'm currently here...
I started with Limited Connectivity
Then it went to Local only
Now I am at Local and Internet....

Still no connection and everything seems fine. Is there a virus software that you could refer me to, or is there another way of trying to fic this problem... Thanks:sick:

Malwarebytes
Don't think it is a virus. Scan with this and see if it finds anything.

Hello MoneyProv,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

You very may well have a virus still preventing you from connecting...

Antivirus programs, including AVG, are usually better at keeping viruses out; versus removing an already present virus. The program suggested by ilikefree will most likely detect any virus your machine has. -- Post the log file derived at the end of the scan, if you choose to scan your computer with that program, so that we may analyze it further for any bad stuff.

Please try the following first:

  1. Click start
  2. Type cmd in the start search box
  3. Right click on cmd from the top of the menu and choose run as administrator.
  4. In the command prompt type the command netsh winsock reset and press enter.
  5. Close the command prompt, restart your computer and check the status.

If the above does not work; try doing the same steps, but type: netsh int ip reset and press enter.

Type exit, restart your computer, and check the status.

Thanks for responding guys, but still to no avail. I tried the above methods. One strange thing i've saw recently is that i downloaded MS Essential on my other PC and then installed it on the comp with no internet... I clicked on update in MS Essential and it actually downloaded and updated???? So i try the same with malware and avg etc... but they don't go through at all, neither do any of my browsers.

My Connection:
IPv4 Connectivity = Internet
IPv6 Connectivity = Limited
Media State = Enabled
Speed = 100.00Mbps

Sent Bytes ------- Received Bytes
507,670 ------- 4,843,545

??????? I need help I'm tired of this crap. She hasn't had Internet for 2 months now... Comcast is no help, as they came out to her house already and hadn't a clue what to do. What is possibly wrong.
