Help!

Haven't a clue

New Member
My daughter made a wonderful digital camera video called 'I'm soooo bored' and posted it on youtube. To save hard disc space, after we had downloaded it on to youtube, I deleted the file, like a twit, from my hard drive! Now she's gone and deleted her youtube account and I want to restore the deleted movie. Is it too late? How do I find it if it can be restored?

Help! Most appreciated. It must be on here somewhere?

thanks

Well, one option is to check your recycle bin to see if it is still in there. If it is, you can restore it from there. Otherwise, you might want to do a search on google for file retrieval software.....but most of that software isn't free.

Also, have you checked the camera to see if it might still be somewhere on there?

If the file was deleted a long time ago, I doubt that you will be able to actually retrieve it, but you can always try.
To be honest, I've never tried this, so I can't point you to any programs. Just do a google search on free data retrieval software. Or look on tucows, cnet or any of the other download sites....

There is always a chance, but you have to understand that a hard disk gets written to all the time, and the operating system usually uses any available space.... and as this was a deleted file, the OS sees it as available space.... the more time has passed, the less chance there is of it still being retrievable

Hello Haven't a clue, and welcome to Vista Forums.

If you had Vista Ultimate, I would recommend using Previous Versions to see if you could restore it. Since you do not, the free program Recuva may be able to help if it has not been to long.

I hope that you will be able to recover the file.
