I have just found out that i cannot load my drivers for my star mirco point of sale tsp 650 printer becasue I am running a 64 bit machine...How do i get the 64bit drivers for this machine. I have been on the star micro web site and no luck there....
Do you still have the manual for this printer?
If so refer to page 6 which states;
For instructions on Linux and windows vista 64bit refer to the software anual located in the "Linux" and "documents" folder on the CD-ROM.
I am also having a problem with the tsp 650 on Vista 64.
I have a serial to usb adapter and I can print out from notepad but can't from some applications...
you need to run the applications in 32-bit, there is a compatibility mode, but I cant remember how to access it, so no help from me it might be in the control panel or right clicking the program. find it mate, you can go from there
The applicaton runs fine on 64. Which it should since it's WOW64 and will run ( or is supposed to run 32 bit applications)
The problem is that the printer is serial and the PC only has USB ports.
So I had to use an adapter Serial to USB to get the printer attached.
I can't use the software that came with the hardware because that's only going to work on 32 bit printers but I do have the 64 bit driver.
I can print out with my HP printer from the application but not with the TSP650 which is a thermal receipt printer. So I think it has to do with the port. Some misconfiguration.
