help! with program application problem

i have recently noticed a problem when i download and install new programs. for example i downloaded and installed ashampoo burning studio and everything worked fine but when i restared the pc and tried to open it i got a message which read "the item has been changed or moved etc.. do you wish to delete this shortcut"

i thought that might just be a problem with the shortcut which suddenly displayed a generic icon but even the .exe file in the folder had the same issue.

this has happened every time i install this program and others as well which i have tested.

help would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

Does the program still work as intended?

no, cannot open it.

OK try this
Go to search
programs
look for the name of the program
right click on it

Then pin to task bar. Does this short cut work?

If the above does work, this is how you make new desktop short cuts.

Click on all programs in search
Right click on the program
Send to>Documents
Then drag to desktop

You can use this until a remedy is found for the program has been moved problem.

thanks but i think the problem is with the program itself. for some reason it wont work after vista restarts.

Lets be sure. Find it in programs, by start, and left click on it twice.
