ive got this problem here. my dvd/cd drive shuts down totally out of nowhere sometimes while im logged on. now it usually happens when i put the computer in sleep and when the computer starts up again its gone no where to be found anywhere on the hardware managers and everything. now i have all the drivers updated to the way they should be but its really irritating. restarting the computer doesnt help i have to fully shut it down adn then start it up again to get the drive back and recognized.
any help? ive been looking everywhere for help on this lol

yea drivers are good for 64 bit and the flashing is apparently not necessary. its working good so far on 64 bit it was 32 where i was having all the trouble. i like the idea of the sleep and hibernate settings ill give that a whirl if it happens again on 64 bit. i checked all the cables on the inside of the comp and their all where they should be not loose or anything. thanks alot for all the help so far guys
