Help! Windows Updates

Hi,

I am a new member and have spent hours reading these posts in order to fix my problm, however have not found an answer...anywhere.

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate x64 and no longer access the Windows Updates page... when I double click on it to open it says: "the page failed to load".

This is driving me crazy! I'm not sure what happened... it worked a while back-- I have run many virus, trojan, malware checks and came up with nothing.

I have disabled the services and run SFC/SCANNOW which told me it fixed some issues but it still won't run.

Also, I don't know if this is related, however I can no longer open my "uninstall programs" application (only in safe mode), nor will my "system processor or RAM" show up under system...it shows unavailable...

Can someone please help???

Thanks,

Chris

Okay... think I help my own cause. I found a thread about "real" admin rights and created a new admin login...everything works on it.

Shouldn't I be able to give primary login the rights for updates and the uninstaller?

Any assistance is appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Thanks cbrook007, I am having the very same problem. Before I create a new Admin User account, could you pls provide me with that "real" admin rights link/thread that you found so useful.

Thanks.
