Also MsMpEng.exe is using 83,000k.....when I googled about that it said to disable Windows Defender and it would go away but my defender is already disabled.

To put it int simple terms, SVChost is the accumulation of many process running at the same time. This article will give you a method to reduce its usage.
Before you begin, run a full antivirus scan, download and run a full scan with Malwarebytes.

I don't think SVhost.exe is slowing down your system. 102 Mb is miniscue. It's using 296 Mb on my system right now and it isn't slowing anything down.

It could be that you need to defrag your hard drive, if you don't have Vista defragging automatically. Or, you may need to run the Windows Disk Cleanup utility and reboot to get rid of temporary files. Or, you may need to run msconfig.exe and look at what's running in the background by looking at the Startup tab.

Filling out System Specs invariably saves time.

Other than seeing numbers in Task Manager that seem high, is there detectable performance degradation? Or is it you just want to know why these tasks use the most resources?

I have found from personal experience that the process typically uses more memory on client operating systems than Windows Server. This could be because it is a slimed down version of the client operating systems in order to reduce possibly vulnerabilities as well as remove processes that aren't needed in a server environment.

A lot of people have already given some good advice which is not to worry about it ;)

If you wish to see what services are running under the process(es) then type the following in an elevated command prompt:

Code:
tasklist /svc /fi "imagename eq svchost.exe"

Upon pressing enter you can see what services are linked with what instances of svchost. In task manager you can distinguish them by PID. If you wish you can then disable services that are listed here to reduce RAM costs however I strongly advise against doing such thing and will not offer any detailed steps on how to since it can cause instability and possibly irreversible damage.

Hope This Helps,
