Help on 1st BIOS Flash PLZ!

Hello! CAn someone help me answer these 4 questions. Your advice will be a big help!:D

1.What is the safest way to flash BIOS step by step?

2.How can I back-up my BIOS step by step?

3.How do I find the right BIOS UPDATE?

4. I used HP`s Product Dection and found this BIos update

I have v5.16 and this is v5.27 but doesn`t say the name of my motherboard(check my system specs) just wondering

Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG is the name of your BIOS chip on the motherboard and not the model number for the motherboard.

If you have the HP Pavilion a6200n Desktop PC, then according to HP, your motherboard should be the MCP61PM-HM model number. In this case you should be able to use the BIOS update. You can verify this by looking for a small white sticker somewhere on the the motherboard itself that should have the model number on it.

Well do you have the problem that the BIOS update fixes?
Resolves issue with systems with 4GB RAM not waking up from S3 mode.
Updates AGESA code to version 2.08.15

If you don't, it is probably not the best idea to update it. If something happens during a BIOS update, it could mean goodbye motherboard.

It looks like an update utility that is run from with in Windows. I would assume the process would be somewhat simple and self explanitory. However, if this method fails(windows error, power bump etc.) you may not be able to recover from the failure.

I would think the best thing to do is to contact HP support on questions 1,2 and 3.

Unless you are having problems with your bios there is no need to update it, bios updates normaly address a specific problem within the bios.

LOL, just seen rrt_77388's post, posted at the same time, to update your bios within windows is a bad way to update your bios, always do it from within the bios itself.
