Hello,
I'll explain this thebest I can and as much detail as i can too.
When booting up my acer aspire 5536 laptop, i received the following error messages:
PXE-E61 Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF Exitng Broadcom PXE ROM
Operating System no found.
To remedy this I tried the Norton Bootable Rescue Disk which did nothing.
I looked online using another laptop an founf I could download an Acer Recovery Disk which I used and has restored windows, however....
There are 2 User Accounts which are still there and when i click on the admin user account it says "Preparing your Desktop" and after 5 or so minutes loads up what should be te usual desktop but nothig is there, no start button, icons, only my mouse cursor. When I load up the second user accont it quickly dispays "Preparing your Desktop" the logs off.
I can use the restore disk to get the command prompt and I have tried the automatic start up repair without sucess.
If I'm not mistaken I'm sure windows WAS on C: but now reports to being on D: and I think this may be causing the issue
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Kind Regards
Chris
