Hello, I have an integrated Sigmatel 9227 High Definition Audio Codec running Vista x32 business. What I had tried to achieve was to install a driver package to get the stereo mix feature. My computer is a Dell Dimension E520. Dell tech says it doesnt support stereo mix however apparently there is work arounds such as a 3rd party driver or program that will give me stereo mix. What I want to do is stream music through a chat room program such as Paltalk but can only do that if I have the stereo mix capability. I have heard that you can patch a line from the line out to line in on the back of the pc's audio ports so I tried that but it didnt seem to do anything different unless something im missing to setting that all up, I just dont know. There are 6 ports for my audio in total which there is a diagram at this link to show what I have. Documentation . I patched #7 line in and #8 line out together and enabled line in in the recording control properties but that didnt do anything or like I said maybe im doing something wrong or not completing what I should be completing. I should be able to somehow get stereo mix without having to buy one of those pricey SB live cards..By the way I did try that LG sigmatel driver package thats just under 95 megs in size which installed fine but didnt give me the stereo mix feature..That driver package will work on some of the laptops such as the Inspiron 6400 that I tested it on, so there must be a work around for the Dimension E520. Seems to me the easy way is the patching of line in and line out but im not up to speed on that so if there is some links on the "how to" or your self knowledge about this that would be much appreciated.

Terry
