Help need with updates not loading

Hi

I am new to this forum and need some help

I've been trying up update my laptop to IE9 but so far have been unable to.

It is a Acer 5611 laptop running Vista Home Premium 32 bit (with service pack 2). It came reloaded with Vista.

I have find that the following updates will not load

KB2559049 Error code 8E5E0147
KB2117917 Error code 8E5E0147
KB2505189 Error code 8E5E0147
IE9 Error code 9C47

It also does not appear it is finishing the genuine windows valuation check although it is a genuine installation. I first get the window validation page with a click to continue label, it says it needs me to provide some information and please click to continue the validation process. When I click on it it goes to a Microsoft page advertising computers and software, I cannot find any thing on that page with reference to validation

I have done a SFC scannow and a checkdisc.

I am now at a loss what to try next and any help would be most welcome.

Right click on computer and select properties. If you can see the genuine logo in the bottom right hand corner then your problem isn't with validation. If you don't see the label and you do have a genuine copy then you should call microsoft.

I've carried out a full scan with malwarebytes with nothing found. I have tried it with my virus scan turned off and still the same. I have checked and the genuine logo is in the bottom corner.

I too have this same issue and I run Malwarebytes. This morning I accidently told Vista to cancel for allowing malwarebytes to load. It was only then I recieved a valid windows menu. According to my computer the updates have been disabled since 2008. That is approximately the time I installed the program. Possibly an issue with malwarebytes and Vista? Unsure but seems very likely.
