 HELLO!,
I am trying to get into my laptop that has vista premium and a huge trojan installed.
Everything has been disabled including being able to do a clean install.:sarc:
When I turn it on it asks for a password
that I type in.Then it says wrong password and
shuts down.Im not allowed to get into my computer for anything. Its an Acer ASPIRE Ive only had since May. Also they didnt provide a disk
that would boot up a disabled system.
Right now Im on my xp desktop and might as well not have a laptop for all the good its doing me.
Ive called Acer and couldnt get any help from them, even tho the com. is still in warrenty. You know the thing you call the run around, well thats what I got from Acer. They want me to pay $345.00 for a plan to have my computer fixed for up to three months! That to
me is unblieveable.
So here I sit trying to find a way to fix the poor excuse for a laptop myself. If anyone has any ideas of something I can try please let me know. Im not a tech by any means and I have
run out of things to try. Also if you could tell me how to get the xp desktop to burn a cd to reinstall vista please let me know.
I will appreciate any help!
Thank You! Jazznanny:D

Thanks for answering!,
Yes Ive tryed ALT -F10,AND F8- F12, Fn-5 all to no avail.
After I press any of these the page comes up to sign in. The password I type in is correct but it says wrong password and shuts down.I cant even get into Bios.
I would like to say this all started with a Norton Trojan
which came preinstalled on my laptop with a 90 day trial. Which clicking it was a big mistake! My big mistake! If I had only known what was going to happen I would have downloaded AVG free 8.0 instead. Now my computer is locked down and basically
unuseable.
Thanks again for answering! Jazznanny A.K.A. Grandmother

Hi Jazz,

Have you tried using the Vista DVD and using Repair Mode to Restore your computer back before this problem started?

Hi,

When you say

Everything has been disabled including being able to do a clean install.:sarc:
When I turn it on it asks for a password
that I type in.Then it says wrong password and
shuts down.Im not allowed to get into my computer for anything.

At exactly what point does this happen ?

Is it as soon as you switch on - i.e. the black screen with white writing?

Or does it get past that stage , if so, exactly what screen are you on when it asks for a password , is it Vista's log in screen - and what does it look like ?

When you tried to do a clean install, were you able to select the boot pop up menu and then select cdrom drive ?

Have you hold down those function keys you had tried such as F10? For some pc you have to hold down the key to get it work.
