Okay, so I'm a fairly incompetent fellow when it comes to operating with Vista, but this is a new low for me. I got an old game (Advent Rising) and it would not work with my new video card. Using some kind of addled mental thought process that only makes sense at 4 in the morning, I figured that turning the card off would somehow work.
Yeah, don't ask me why I thought that.
Anywho, I went to Device Manager and selected my video card (A Nividia GeForce 9800 GTS) and right clicked, then selected "disable."
The screen went black. I restarted and windows started up, but after it finished loading windows, the screen went black and I heard the windows start up noise, then the sound of my CD autorunning (Fallout 3, very distinctive start up noise).
So, the problem is everything WORKS. Nothing is broken...I've just done something really stupid.
How do I turn the video card back on?
And yes, I've tried starting in Safe Mode. it loads up to crcdisk.sys and freezes.
...help?
