**HELP! How Can I access my videos from another User Profile??**

Hi,

My computer was infected by an virus a few weeks ago and I was able to get rid of the virus. Now all my user profiles are BLACKED out except the Administrator profile. However, I can't access the videos saved under different user profiles? I'm getting a msg now saying this

You've encountered error message C00D11B1 while using Windows Media Player. The following information might help you troubleshoot the issue.

Anybody know how to fix? Do i have to take ownership? If so, how do I go about it? Thanks

Hello iSTATUS,

From within your administrator account, navigate to and open the video file from within Windows Explorer. You will have to do this first to apply UAC permission to open the other user account's folders the first time, but afterwards it should play in WMP.

Hi can you explain more precisely. From my Admin acct i went under the users folder..found the video files under user's folder but I can't open the video. How do I apply the UAC permission?

Right click on the desired folder and go to properties. You can add users and groups, specifying their rights.

I tried that and it didn't work. Windows Media was still giving me that error msg. Maybe it does not have to do with ownership rights? I was assuming...

You might see if copying or moving the video files over into your administrator account's Videos folder instead may work in WMP afterwards.
