Help Error 1402

I'm trying to run an executable and keep getting the error that I do not have administrator priviledges. I've logged on as the administrator and also as a user (created a new account) and also tried to "Run as administrator" with no luck. I also receive an HKEY_local_machine32\software\wow6432node\FLEXLM license manager error, which I'm assuming is related to admin access.
I need this file to complete homework for an online class.
Anyone have any ideas?

error 1402 is a could not open reg key. I assume the FLEXLM license manager is owned by some one other than you and you may have to check out its permissions.

At an elevated command prompt - open the start menu, type cmd and press ctrl+shift+enter at once - then type net user administrator /active:yes

Then type exit and reboot. Click the administrator account, then open up explorer, navigate to C:\Users and go into your folder and see if that runs the .exe

When you are done, run the net user command again and enter no instead of yes.

This didn't work either, but I certainly appreciate the information. Still getting the error msg - need admin priviledges.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know how to check the permissions. Any help would be appreciated.

checking permissions is easy. go to the file (in this case the flex file that launches the app) and right click it. go to properties and then go to the security tab. highlight your user name and look at what boxes are checked. you should have all the boxes checked for your user name. that gives you all the rights.

Were you trying to uninstall something when this happened? Do you recall what events led up to this?

I checked permissions and I have everything except special permissions in both Owner and Administrator. It won't let me check the special permissions for either. The only thing I did was download a zip file, open it and then tried to run the setup executable...

I succeeded in loading the trial software from the palisade website. Although it's a trail version only good for 15 days, I have something. The admin error came up again, but it downloaded and is working.
The professor is tracking down how to get the software for 64 bit. The CD and web link we were given is not 64 bit compatible. I'm hoping a solution is found before I have to pay for it again.

An app that will not run on 64-bit? Find another one before you pay. That's sloppy programming is what it is.
