I have had Vista on my computer since February 2007 and have had nothing but troubble all the way. Finally I decided to try upgrading to Vista Ultimate. I had XP Professional when I upgraded to Vista Ultimate. Everything went fine except for the connection to internet. There is nothing wrong with the router or connection, I have tested it with my laptop both wireless and cable. I can see the computer on the network on my laptop so it should be connected, but no internet. Unidentified network is all I get. Can someone help?
Thanks for the reply. All drivers are there. Have tried using windows to repair connection with no luck. It's like my computer doesn't see the internet. The internet is there, but it just wont connect. It does this after I give the connection static IP. If it is in auto it comes up with IP 169.254.88.24 and is stuck "identifying" the network.

Thanks. I have tested the cable by plugging it into my laptop wich has Windows XP and my wifes laptop wich has Vista Home Premium. I believe the problem is in my desktop PC somewhere.
