Headset setting checklist?

I'm having issues with my Vista doesn't recognize my speech at all. I want to thoroughly diagnose the issue, so please check my setting:

The 1st 3 attachments pop-up when I insert the headset, 1st sound output then sound input, into the audio jacks on the front of my PC.

The last 2 attachments are 2 things to check concerning the headset.

I've not check the audio drivers, to update if necessary. Please tell me if you know how to check that as well as any other things to check that you can think of.

Hi,

First thing to notice is the mic is selected to a USB device not the Realtek one, is that correct?

Did you get a driver/ installation disk with your headset & mic?

Have you used/ installed the drivers for the USB mic? If that is the device showing with no drivers.

If I am assuming incorrectly, please advise me further.

Lottiemansion, my headset usb, it's anolog. There are no drivers or installation for the headset.

Do you have any idea what the "Unknown" device is?

Try this software to identify it: -

Driver Detective | Driver Update Software for Windows 7, Vista and XP

Do you get any sound from the mic etc?
