HDMI and Vista?

Some graphics cards are coming with HDMI outputs now. Given that video and audio come out of separate boards on Vista systems, is there any sound component in the HDMI output from the video boards?

Not sure how (or even if) Nvidia does it, but the ATI HD 4xxx series of cards all have a Realtek based sound chip on the cards that provide the audio over HDMI.

Thanks for the quick info. Sounds a little new and advanced for me, especially as I'm seeing a fair amount of chatter about problems with the Realtek chips in forum. When the dust settles I'll look into it.
