Have connection but no internet!

I had a bug telling me I had a virus and i needed to "click here" Of course i did not. I immediately went to my service provider website (cox) and downloaded the free McAfee they offer. It loaded fine and then instructed it would reboot. When the system rebooted McAfee window opened and said no internet access unable to complete installation. Since then I have yet to get internet.

I loaded combofix and tdsskiller via thumbdrive, and ran them. Combofix found something potato and killed it. Tdsskiller found a few medium level threats that I chose to delete.

I deleted and reloaded firefox and checked proxy settings in both firefox and explorer, as well as reset explorer defaults. No proxy - auto configure. Still no internet.

System shows full signal strength and Windows network diagnostics does not find any problems with the internet connection. I have tried both wireless and direct connection.

Any ideas????

Welcome
The virus has made changes to your OS that prevent internet connection.
You can probably fix it with a system restore, but you must be very, very careful. You must go back a week before the virus to make sure it does not contaminate your computer, again.
