Did you try reinstalling using the administrator account?
Have you tried to remove the device then re-start the computer?
Is your wifi built into your mobo?

Yes I have been using the Administrator account and I have attempted to remove them and restart

The wireless card is an Encore PCI 802.11n card and is compatible with 64 bit vista. It didn't come with the comp, I added it.

Also I have been blessed with the BlueScreen error (No BSOD) and subsequently a computer restart whenever I search for updated drivers using Device Manager.

Edit:
Also receiving BlueScreen error (BSOD) and restart when using help (F1)

go into control panel, system, system protection, startup and recovery
ensure that the Automatically Restart tab is not ticked.
Get the computer to BSOD and let us know what it informs you.
I.e. the reason and the hex codes that comes with it.

After disabling the automatic restart I was given the following hex codes after doing search for automatic driver updates.
Stop: 0x0000003B (0x00000000c0000005, 0x00000000000000000, 0xFFFFFA600825EEE0, 0x000000000000000)

All these events are noted in the Event log so if you need information I will try to get as much as I can to help diagnose this problem

Edit: When I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver I was given the Stop: 0x000000003B (0x00000000C0000005, 0x000000000000000, 0xFFFFFA60071A7EE0, 0x000000000000000000)

looking at the tech pages the first part 0x3B is a system service exception was generated.
The second part 0xC000005 is a exception in memory access violation.

Try a memory check.
Have you tried to remove the devices or update the devices in safe mode?
Have you got the latest service pack installed.
What is your motherboard model?
Is your PC overclocked?

This can be caused by bad drivers, which was a total shock when I heard it:rolleyes:.

Have you had this problem since an upgrade?
Have you tried a system restore?

I did a system restore to a date that the computer worked properly but this did not fix my problem.
There have been no upgrades or installations that occured during this time frame. I also tried to resolve the problem in safe mode but had the same result. My PC is not overclocked, i have Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 and my motherboard model is MSI G31M3 V.2.

I will do a memory check and report back.

I believe it is v02.61

Update: I found a work around, I brought up the boot manager (f8) on start up and I disabled disabling drivers that fail signature and everything loaded up fine. I still need help figuring out why this occured.

My Computer

It could be that the drivers are 32bit but I could be wrong.
Not all drivers have a signature in the database.
Dont rule out malware or virus, it may be an idea to post a thred in the system security to see if they know anything.
I suspect it is your mobo drivers causing the error.

How do I check the Mobo drivers?
edit: I couldn't even keep the computer on for more than a minute before I get the BSOD with the same hex codes
I had to disable the driver signature enforcement or use safe mode to use computer.

The fact you had to use safe mode does suggest all these problems are driver related as you have found out.
Try looking for signed drivers for your system. 64bit works better this way as you have found out.
To find out the version of the driver go to device manager and double click on a device. double clicking on display adaptor will open your graphics card for example. Right click on the expanded device and choose properties. Now click on driver and it will tell you date and verion.
Check your mobo model, I can not find yours on the MSI website, it should have an L or F after the model number.
If you have probs finding the version number of the driver then repost the problem. I have read this thred so it will not appear again in my mail until you repost.
