Graphics card removal

Ok, I know that some graphics cant be removed if they are integrated, but most of the cards I have seen don't specify whether they can be changed.

Can the Intel GMA 4500 be changed? (any model of it e.g. 4500, 4500MHD)

Can the Ati Radeon HD 3200 be changed?

Thanks for any help in advance :)

Hello Will,

As far as I know, you cannot change the integrated graphics chip. For a desktop, you can only disable it in the BIOS and add a graphics card of your choice to replace it with. There's nothing you can do for a laptop though. :(

Hope this helps,
Shawn

If this is for your laptop, then the only way is to get a new laptop with a different one. :(

normally i would never recommend this place..........its staff are clueless and its products are mostly overpriced but............

you COULD goto PC world (saying this is making me physically sick ;) ) and get a cheap dual core desktop machine with 3 gig of ram and onboard graphics , BUT you need to make sure it has a 16X PCI/E slot to upgrade your video card too (for about 350 400 quid (monitor included)

then buy a separate half decent video card such as a 9800gtx as an upgrade (dont buy this from pc world get it online) the only other issue with this is your power supply may not be up to the new GPU but this will have to researched

or you could look here Systems (PCs) & Bundles - Overclockers UK see what they have on offer , they have some half decent "budget" systems on offer , obviously thee is no monitor with these

if you see anything you like just post up a link and we can look it over for you , there are a quite a few of us gamers on here :D

there is also the option of self build (not as hard as you might think) if your interested in that give us a shout and we can put some components together for you :)

yes actually building yourself is very easy, but archie is right a cheap desktop and throw in a gpu isn't a bad idea (its what i did although i wish that i could overclock but thats something thats locked by the manufacter) but if you want to build yourself.... we know the goods :D

Thank for the post guys, you being really helpful :)
Ok, Well first of all - It needs to be a laptop... I just cannot fit a desktop anywhere in my house where it will be easily accessible at all times. Trust me... I need to have it ready at all times :p

Hope someone can recommend a laptop :-)

Btw, If someone can find a decent laptop with everything I want but the graphics card, then find out if its possible to disable the graphics card and replace it with a newer one (limit of £100 cost) into the laptop, (it must fit lol) Then that would be GREATLY appreciated.
