GIF Files

Hi Everyone,

I'm pretty new to the whole Vista experience. Would one of you be able to tell me something? How can I attach a gif file to a word document. I know it's probably a stupid one but I can't figure it out.

Thanks,

Newbee

I don't really know but one thought is, you would have to have GIF's saved on your computer then when it comes to the word document click on the attach button and tell it to attach the GIF you have saved.

I have no idea if that is how it's done but I don't think it will do any harm for you to try it that way.

If you try it let us know if it works, or maybe someone else will tell you another way to try ;)

I assume you want to INSERT the .gif into your document? A .gif is an image, like a jpeg, so you can use Insert>Picture>From file and browse to your .gif. Or, you can just find the .gif in windows explorer, highlight it, Ctrl+C to copy it, then place your cursor in the Word document where you want and Ctrl+V to paste it in. You can then re-size it with the handles if necessary, or right click on the image and choose "Format Picture". HTH, --ch

Hi Guys,

I think I managed to fix the problem, bit of a mission though, I'm not 100% sure though if it will last as the last time I sorted the document and saved it, it was fine. But the next day when I went to add to it, all the gif images were scattered everywhere, so we shall see. Fingers crossed but if it happens again, I'll be in touch cause my laptop has been playing silly beggars for a while now.

Thanks for your help,

Brown Bear
