Getting homeplug/greatlight powerline network to be usable by Windows.

My Vista computer is on a wireless network, which works fine and has access to internet through a router connected to another computer.

I have now connected a powerline network to the Vista computer, plugged into RJ45 port. The other module of the powerline is connected to a wall plug in another room.

The utility installed for the powerline network says the two modules are connected with a very strong signal. But Vista networking center says there is limited or no connectivity.

The device connected to the powerline module in the other room (a Squeezebox, which works perfectly when connected directly to the router) gets nowhere trying to communicate to the Vista computer.

I have spent hours in the Networking center looking for the right settings. pushed the "Repair" button many times, made sure network is "private".

I need to make the Vista computer properly connect to the powerline network which reports that it is operating correctly.

Thanks
