Gets IP, but has no connection

Hi,

I'm using Vista Ultimate x64, and a few days ago I started having troubles connecting to the internet.

I have tried using both cabled and wireless connections, and both ends up with the same problem.

I do get IP-adress, DNS and gateway from my D-link DI-624+ router, and when i try to ping a hostname on the internet ie. vistax64.com it resolves the hostname to a IP-adress.

In "Network and Sharing Center" there is a red cross between my gateway and the internet-icon.

I have no trouble connecting to other computers with other versions of Windows on my local network. The connection is also set to a "Private Connection".

Booting in fail-safe mode doesn't help solving my problem.

Does anyone have some ideas to solve this?

Thanks in advance!!

Hi. Firstly try resetting IE7 to default..total reset. Secondly, could you tell me what antivirus you have running? There is a few more things to try, but I need to find out the first two things please.

Thanks for your answer, coolchris. I've now discovered, by trying again, that the problem only occours when i'm using cabled netowork through a network bridge in my XP laptop. I use this bridge, because the laptop has a better wireless network adaptor than i have in my desktop - but when i try i get the troubles as described in my first post.

I've tried to reset IE7 with the cable plugged in - didn't fix it.

I'm using Panda Antivirus 2008.

I don't know if you have any suggestions solving this problem, with the things i've described? :)
