Frequent Blue Screens...

Hi,

My computer recently started blue screening. It doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing, whether surfing the web or playing a game online, it randomly happens about once every two days.

It never happened before my college installed the ECPBus and ECPNode drivers to authenticate the wireless internet on my computer. The easiest method of fixing my problem is probably removing what they installed but if I do then I won't have a way of connecting my laptop to the internet.

I have updated both ECP's and my wireless card but it still happens. Below is some information:

It happened again. I updated the driver as you specified...should I just download and install all of the network drivers? I am at a loss for what to do...

My Computer

Its a very bgood idea to have all updated drivers and microsoft updates..... Its quite possible that 1 small quirk is effecting an update/ms program.

Give updating a try, really can't hurt.

I had updated everything but the Network Drivers (the only one i updated in that list was the Broadcom one). I now installed/updated all of the network drivers provided. I also perform Windows Update on a regular basis. Hopefully this fixes the problem :(

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: ffffffffc0000094, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: fffffa60034c044b, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: fffffa6008946658, Exception Record Address

How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- The most common drivers are listed on this page: http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org/drvrdown.html
To remove any left over driver remnants, especially from graphics cards, use driver sweeper

Sorry for taking so long, I've been busy with school and work. This is my second time typing this since my computer decided to BSOD on me the first time...

  • I'm not overclocking.
  • Anti Virus found nothing.
  • I've updated it to its "latest" (provided by HP) driver but that was one year ago. Broadcom Corporation should have a newer update but I am unable to find it for my product.
  • I am currently running the SFC/scannow I'll update this post soon.
Thanks for the help.

My Computer

The most important thing is to update that driver.

I have been to the Broadcom website and visited the download drivers page. It appears I have a BCM4322 or just a 4322 product which I found on the website but I failed to see anywhere to update the driver. My current driver version is 5.30.20.0.

Could you possibly assist in locating the correct page to download the driver?

My Computer

My hunch would be that you will no longer have the problem, if the wireless is actually the cause. These reports only give clues not answers. If you get another BSOD just post.

It would seem the wireless is the cause. Since I've turned it off I haven't had any issues. I'll figure it out eventually if it comes to the point where I really need the wireless.

Thanks for all of your help. +Rep to you both!
