Forum Rules - Please Read!

In order to keep the forums running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forums here. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact one of the Staff Members.


General Rules:

1) Rudeness, insults, racial/hate slander, flaming, attacks, stalking, and trolling will not be tolerated.

2) No useless posts, e.g., thread bumping, useless one liners, junk posting to increase post count, and identical multi-postings in different forums.

3) No spamming, advertising, selling, or personal promoting at all.

4) No discussion of piracy or anything illegal is allowed at all. Such as software, music, videos and other intellectual property violations.

5) No plagiarism.

6) No discussions of hacking someones system, network, password, etc.

7) No Rep begging or abuse of the Rep System.

8) No discussions on religion, politics, or firearms.

9) Posting of sexually explicit content (nudity), joining with offensive or inappropriately lewd user names, avatars, or posts that violate vistax64.com community standards are not allowed. The vistax64.com team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.

10) Absolutely no posting of malicious content of any kind, e.g., links, software.

11) No posting direct download links of programs. Only links to their source download site is allowed due to EULA and copyright of program.

12) Multiple site accounts are not allowed. No fake or disposable emails/domains are to be allowed for site registration.

13) This is an English based site. Please only post in English, or provide an English translation in your posts.

14) No ad blocking discussions. This site depends on ads to pay for the costs of running and maintaining it.

15) To comply with international laws - all members must be 13 years old or above.


We reserve the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules, as access to our support forums is a privilege and not a right.

We also reserve the right to modify, close, remove, delete, or take any other action we deem necessary and appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way .

Hardware and Personal Information - PLEASE READ

For the benefit of everyone, and to ensure the safety of personal information, would all users please note that they SHOULD NOT include any personal information such as email addresses, real addresses, telephone numbers or other identifiable material in their post. Such information will be removed by the Administrators or Moderators. This is for YOUR protection. As part of the registration process, your email address is held by the Forums to enable you to be notified if there are any replies to any of the posts/threads you have contributed to. People registered as members on this Forum can contact other members directly for advice using the Private Messaging (PM) service. They DO NOT need to know your actual email address as this function is automatically taken care of by the Forums.

Personal Information and Scams

These also fall into the phishing category, as they use social engineering/manipulation techniques to gain further information from you:

(1) Your contact address.
(2) Your Tel/Fax numbers.
(3) Your Nationality/Country.
(4) Your Full Names.
(5) Occupation/Age.

They already have your e-mail address (either chosen at random or from details found on forums and other websites). All they want now is some data to link that address to an actual person, and this is what the above quote shows. DO NOT under any circumstances reply to any e-mails that ask for this information, especially if they also want your bank details (I suspect that if you fill in this information as requested by the scammer, you could well get another e-mail asking for those details).
This is why I strongly recommend EVERYBODY to read this post, and to take note of what it says.
Unfortunately, if you do put your e-mail address on a post it may be too late. By the time it has been spotted and removed (or if you subsequently realise and remove it after sending your post), then the chances are that it might already have been spotted by the scammers.

Hardware Information

In order for people to assist you with any problems you may have, please complete the System Specs section of your CP as comprehensibly as you can (see mine for an example of the information required). For ready-built systems, such as laptops, please include the manufacturer and full model number in the appropriate section. Don't forget to keep it up to date. Many problems can be explained and solved with the aid of this information - in some cases a simple driver and/or program upgrade is all that is required. If you are doing this on behalf of someone else, please include the information of their machine in the post.

Don't forget that we need help in order to help you - only you have access to your machine. If, for example, your mouse was working normally before installing a program and now no longer works correctly, please tell us the name of that program.

For those who have a HP or Compaq laptop/notebook, see the information below. The information required is 1 Model Number. The information at 3 Product Name gives the series of the computer, but not the specific model.
