Hello Montecezuma,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

The only problem I ran into was with online activation. Had to do a phone activation, which was fairly painless.

Hope this helps.

As long as it is the same system ( Eg, Same Motherboard/RAM/Processor/HDD ( May be a problem ) But I've upgraded hard-drives in countless OEM Windows Computers and not had a problem with re-activating. Besides, activating Vista by phone can be a pain-less way, but it will get done if you need to do it. More than likely, however, you should be able to activate online with no problem ^.^

Good luck! :)

my two cents: i've upgraded at least one processor and mobo and used the same oem vista disk when i reinstalled the os--no call to ms needed each time.

Once windows vista is installed you can still activate windows. but you can only activate manually. click start right click computer click properties. then click the windows activation. then click the option to call. select the country you live in.
a phone number with the letters A-H and 6 digit numbers will show up. this is all automated. i have had to do it several times with my vista home premium 64 bit.
