I will never say goodbye to Windows XP!!! NEVER!!! No matter how fast Windows 7 is, it will never erase the legacy of XP. XP was the most successful Windows OS that ever existed!

I wished that Vista would be built on XP's foundation, but obviously MS had other ideas. Sigh... :sleepy:

True!....but it must be emphasised that it is quite apparent and plainly observed, that they [the expephiles], unfortunately all share and suffer from one particularly nasty and completely unavoidable viral condition, known simply as expephillianxieta.

expephillianxieta
n. a virus affecting some computer users, which causes a morbid fear for the day where after the event, Microsoft announces that the XP OS Switch, has been TURNED OFF.

Thanks Mary Jo.

I'm an Old Timer and been using Windows since Windows was just Windows, so while I was using XP Pro and listened to the anti Vista and Windows Naysayers FUD long before the release, so I jumped back into Linux and had been almost a religious-like user for well over 2 years, but with new System and Hardware upgrades last year, then Linux just could not keep up and work properly, so I began using Vista, and after taking control, then everything has performed quite easily, as maybe the Linux, and even those first 2 years of XP's growing experiences, then all that has made Vista, just quite simply, a piece of cake. I still dual boot Linux installs on the P4's and PII that have XP Home, Pro and even Win98, but never ME, so in the last year, I have not used XP for more than a few hours....Total, and mostly just to keep it updated, and all that is definitely because of the Power and the ease of Vista on the New Systems. I have not tried Win7 yet, and all the user reports sound just super, but I do have the price discounted upgrade Disks coming at the release date, so I'll wait and see how it all goes. :)

My Computer

As a Vista Ultimate user, I would love to upgrade to 7 Ultimate, but I am not willing to pay $219 to do that, and so I will be sticking with Vista for the foreseeable future.
