folder

hi there,

Recently there has been folder on my desktop called "programs" and it's empty. I have tried deleting it, but when i restart my computer it comes back. Any ideas on how to get rid of it??

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Do like Axon says, an try deleting the folder from within Safe Mode.

Also, from a normal boot, use MSCONFIG (<WINDOWS_KEY>+<R>, MSCONFIG, <ENTER>) to disable any unnecessary startup programs that could be re-creating this folder each time. You may also want to perform a virus and malware scan, because the behaviour of this folder "magically" re-appearing even after you have deleted it is not normal.

thanks guys.

The programs folder actually appeared in the start menu> all programs> programs....inside of it was basically all my programs i had installed, but it was just a copy of all the icons and folders that i already had in the start menu, so i deleted it and then it appeared on my desktop, but empty. So that's how it all started.

I'll give what you suggested a try, thanks.
