Hey all. I've got a question related to the "Backup Files" utility in Vista. I have two hard disks; 1 150GB velociraptor on which Windows/Programs is installed, and a 1TB caviar on which I store my data. I also have a linux server containing a 1TB drive. I would like to have automated backups made of my 1TB data drive in my main machine to the server's drive; I chose the 1TB drive in the server for this exact reason. However, it seems as if the Windows backups utility must always copy the contents of the drive on which Windows is installed? Please tell me that the backup utility isn't this limited?
I have 42GB of data on the root disk, all of which is program/Windows data. This drive I have created an image backup with the "Complete PC backup" and saved said image to the 1TB data drive. I'd like to backup ONLY the 1TB drive to the server, as this will get the image and all of my data; apparently Windows must always include the Windows root disk, no matter where it is located or what all it contains, in the backups (?!)
Is it possible to include only the data drive in the backup, or am I limited to always including the root drive as well? Thanks.
