Hello all,

A friend of mine suggested this addon to me a while ago and I think I should share it with you - if you aren't already using it that is!

As the thread title suggests, this is for Firefox only.

FEBE is a Firefox addon that allows the user to make a full backup of their Firefox profile. Your Firefox profile stores all of your addons, settings and bookmarks. If you ever have any problems with Firefox, you can just restore to one of these backups - it can essentially be used as a system restore for Firefox.

I've very recently (this morning) reinstalled Windows 7 and FEBE saved me the hassle of importing all of my Firefox data again. Within seconds of running FEBE, I had all of my addons, bookmarks and settings back :)

When I find time, I will make a tutorial on it :) But until then, you'll have to work it out for yourselves - it isn't that hard.

Thanks for reminding me. I didn't have it installed on FF 5. I've been using it for quite awhile.

edit: hmm, doesn't seem to like FF 5. It just hangs after backing up 2 AddOns.

edit2: guess it just doesn't like selective backup. I set it to full profile and it was done in like 1/10th of a second!

edit3: Sorry, I know it's not your job to support FEBE :)

Haha, it's fine buddy :) Thanks for the rep by the way. I never used it for FF 5, but I know that it works fine in FF 6 - well for me anyway

I have 198 bookmarks - and I only use the latest ones! Perhaps it would be best if I did lose them all! But FEBE downloaded. Thanks Tom :)

When I scan mine for dupes I think it shows something like 235. I don't run Linux anymore. Nostalgia is the only reason I don't delete the Linux links. :)

    Weakest part of my computer is the graphics chipset. Only ever used a laptop. Also use USB Freeview TV Card Lenovo Docking Station External Speakers Other bits a pieces as needed
Chromium is simpler in its way. I just drag & drop the entire Chromium folder from AppData\Local :)
