Fatality X-Fi mic

every time i turn my computer on i have to mute my mic? is there a way i can set it where i don't have to keep muting my mic after every shut down or restart?

why do you have to mute your mic in the first place? unless you have plugged it into the wrong jack and you have plugged it into the line in jack. make sure your mic is plugged into the red jack

its in the right spot, when i was running xp the mic was muted all the time so i didn't have to hear myself thru my own speakers

Yes I had this problem as well awhile ago and it annoyed me a lot, but the solution is very simple..

Go to your control panel.. click the "Sound" button.

Check which speaker is currently being used by lookin at the Green cross thingy ;P

Double click it then go to fourth tab where you can adjust sound levels, and mute the microphone from there... if you use it in ventrilo and such ppl will hear u but u wont hear yourself.. I'll add some screenshots as Im really **** at explaining.

Also on the Recording tab make sure it is set to Microphone and not "What U Hear",
