I'm running windows vista home premium 32bit and id like to restore my desktop to the factory setting, I cant remember how though. I've search the internet and every where says I need discs to do so which I don't have, I have done it before about a year or so ago with out discs so I know it can be done I just cant remember how I did it, I know you have to press a button like F11, F10 or F12 or something, have done so but never found anything that says restore to factory setting only about restoring to previous safe position or some thing but I want to completely wipe my computer. I know I will lose every thing, I have important files saved on another computer. Every where also says to contact you manufacturer to know how to restore it, which I also didn't need to do last time.

Here are my system specs if they help, not sure how to find this out so Ill type all I know:
Manufacturer: Zoostorm
Model: ECS G31 Series
Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
Memory: 2.00GB
System Type: 32-bit Operating System

Tried pressing F10 on start up and got edit boot options and under that it showed [/NOEXECUTE =OPTIN
No idea what that means so left it, under that it said press F8 for Advanced Boot Options so I did and it says Repair your computer, system recovery options, log on as local user, but I have no password, dont remember making a password for it at all let alone logging in as local user o_0

F11 says Please select boot device then had the options of selecting either one of
WDC WD5000AAKS - 00A7B0
TSSTCORP CDDVDW SH-S202H
have no idea what that is so left it

F12 does nothing at all.

  • Manufacturer/Model

    G31T-M (V1.0) Motherboard
    Memory

Press F8 while your computer is booting then, repair your computer, system recovery options, log in as administrator, and if you don't have a password keep it blank and press next. You should be able to perform a system recovery if you still have a "recovery partition".
Good luck.
