I would really appreciate if anyone can help me out with this issue! thanks

In the computer industry, anything sold as an "optimiser" is almost guaranteed to be a scam. My suggestion would be to try to revert your configuration to default as much as possible - uninstall all "optimisers" and utilities promising to enhance your browsing or download speeds.

Also test and see what happens when you boot to [safe mode + net]. If that leads to a substantial increase in performance (back to normal), you could use the "selective startup" option in the MSCONFIG utility to try to find the culprit which slows things down in normal mode.

Re: Extremely Slow Internet/DL speed LAGS/FREEZES please help

ok I am in safe mode with networking as I type this and its the usual I sent a ping to google.com and still its the same 58-500 time and requests times out now and then .... so what would be anyones next suggestion, and those optimizers , i just downloaded to try, honestly i dont know what the problems is and its piddling me off, with windows xp and the same wireless adapter its fine , its something to do with this horrible operating system

Anyone else have an idea to the problem ??

Have you updated the NIC driver to the latest version?

Another test you might want to try is to temporarily bypass the wireless NIC and connect (wire) the machine directly to the WAP/router. If that works normally, it's evidence the wireless is somehow involved.

I'd also suggest trying to relax. It's a lump of metal and plastic with no feelings or intentions. Emotion is an obstacle to troubleshooting.

Not sure what you mean by NIC driver, but I have the lastest drivers for my linksys wusb600n wireless adapter.. wire connection works fine, and some other pc's with xp are also fine, its just this new one with vista

NIC = Network Interface Card

Since it works fine with your wired NIC, but is unacceptably slow through wireless, the problem is almost certainly linked to the wireless NIC and/or its driver. You wouldn't be the first - wireless is still a flakey technology.

The best advice I can give you is what I'd be tempted to do myself under the same circumstances:

1) Test what happens with (slightly) older builds of the wireless NIC driver package. In some cases the latest build may have problems. If they all behave the same way...

2) Reinstall Vista from scratch. Verify whether the behaviour is still exactly the same - WiFi unacceptably slow with all drivers, even in safe mode, while wired communication is perfectly fine. If so...

3) Take it back to the shop under warranty and let them deal with it. A new computer is supposed to work. Presumably you're not interested in the intricacies of just how and why the wifi NIC is experiencing difficulties. You just want a working computer.

Have you tried taking your PC round to your neighbors house and plugging it directly into the router? try doing a speed test on their system rather than your own and see how it fairs, or are you just automatically blaming and flaming an operating system you are not used to, vista is a much better performer on newer systems than XP, and i can prove it.

Looks ok on vista on my system :D and just to be fair, im in manchester in the uk and i chose a server in the netherlands.

But if you want a viable solution to your problem, stop stealing peoples connections and get your own, then you will find that things will start to work.

Can you list the following:

1- What speed you are paying for
2- What speed you get through a wired connection
3- What speed you get with wireless

When using speedtest.net for results click on the triangle closest to where you are.

i was merely stating that the router being closer to your computer may give you a faster connection(in your house, it does have to travel a distance through a wall and to your computer), you appear to be taking my comments as sarcasm?
